Songs that are sung in our Stepping Stone Class

Each day we sing, at circle time and before snack.  From experience, we know that the words of the songs are often "modified" between the classroom and home.  To help you understand what we are singing, we shall periodically give you the words to the songs.

The song we sing before snack:

Thank You

Thank you for the world so sweet.

Thank you for the food we eat.

Thank you for the birds that sing.

Thank you for everything.

The introductory song we often sing at circle time to encourage the children to speak:

Good Morning

Good morning, Good morning, Good morning to you.

(I will walk around the circle and say, "Good  morning " to you.)

At circle time during the first

two weeks we shall sing the following songs:

People on the Bus

The driver on the bus says, "Please move back"

The baby on the bus says, " Ha, ha, ha!"

The teacher on the bus says, "Sh, sh, sh!"

The teacher on the bus says, " I love you".

(Insert teachers' names)

When Cows Get Up

When cows get up in the morning, they always say, "Good day".

When cows get up in the morning, they always say, "Good day".

"Moo, Moo, Moo, Moo, that is what they say"

"What do they say"?

"Moo, Moo, Moo, Moo, that is what they say"

(Repeat with different animals)

Three Blind Jellyfish

Three, blind jellyfish

Three, blind jellyfish

Sitting  on a rock.

One jellyfish swam away.

Oh no!

Jane

Jane is a big girl,

She's happy all the day,

And when she has her green dress on,

She likes to jump and play.

Tra, la, la la la

Tra, la, la la la

Tra, la, la la la

She likes to jump and play.

(the children each will take turns jumping into the middle of our circle and describe the clothes they are wearing)

Rainy Day

What shall we do on a rainy day, rainy day, rainy day?

What shall we do on a rainy day, when we can't go out to play.

We'll read a book on a rainy day, rainy day, rainy day.

We'll read a book on a rainy day when we can't go out to play.

What shall we do on a sunny day, sunny day, sunny day?

What shall we do on a sunny day, when we can go out to play.

We'll jump in the air on a sunny day, sunny day, sunny day.

We'll jump in the air on a sunny day when we can go out to play.

(there are many variations, Eg. We'll walk to snack.)

Red Apples

Up on the tree there were three red apples,

three red apples, all ripe and red.

One fell down and bopped me on the head,

so there were two red apples on the tree instead.

(Repeat with two and one)

I've got a hunch it's time for lunch

crunch, crunch, crunch!
