Summer Of Discovery

This summer open your child's eyes to the world around them. We have a  wonderful summer day camp program.  Our facility has two heated in-ground pools, air-conditioned class rooms, and extensive playgrounds. Our summer camp program is staffed with Montessori trained teachers and experienced lifeguards and swim instructors.  Each program is instructed by a trained teacher.

Explore the World

 Session 1                 Ages 5 1/2  to 6 and 7 to 9

Children must be 5 years old by January 1, 2009

Creative approach to Geography with hands-on materials.  Multi media computers and a variety of resources will be available to explore the continents.  Children enjoy daily swim lessons in our heated pools.

 

                                Exploring Nature  

Session 2-3-4              Ages 5 1/2 to 6 and 7 to 9

Children must be 5 years old by January 1, 2009

Come early July, wildlife biologist David Womer, owner of Back Into Nature, sets up a vast array of insects, birds, rocks and minerals at Albrook Summer Camp.  He has at least 40 snakes (none venomous), dozens of lizards (including bearded dragons), toads, frogs, hissing cockroaches, tarantulas and other insects to help him share his love of nature with children.  With such a large collection of critters, Mr. Dave is able to teach just about any animal topic you can imagine.  He also shares his vast experience on other nature topics, such as fossils, rocks and minerals, astronomy and volcanoes.  Whatever the subject or age group he is teaching, he specializes in making it fun and educational. A field trip is planned for full day campers registered for session 3 and 4.  All campers will enjoy a daily swim lesson in our heated pools.

Creative Adventure

Session 1-2-3-4                        Ages 4- 5

Session 2-3-4                           Ages 6 - 9

Creative Adventure provides activities based on a variety of themes throughout the summer, including arts and crafts, games, music and play acting.  Children enjoy daily swim lessons in our heated pools.

 

 

Creative Nature

Session 1-2-3-4                                Ages 4 - 5

 

Become a young naturalist, explore the outdoors, see what you will find.  Each session will offer different topics relating to nature and science.  Hands-on materials, books, songs, movement and art activities will be used to explore nature and science.  Children enjoy daily swim lessons in our heated pools.

Spanish Immersion

Session 2-3                                       Ages 4 - 5

 Aprenda español durante el verano....

learn Spanish during the summer.  Students will have the opportunity to become fully immersed in the Spanish language.  Some of our themes will include colors, numbers, parts of the body, animals, clothing and more.  Students will learn through songs, stories and games. Children will have a daily swim lesson in our heated pools.

Drama

Session 3                                           Ages 5 - 8

The Drama Program will be led by Mrs. Lipman, drama teacher at Albrook.  The goal of the program is to give children an enjoyable and exciting experience in theater.  The morning session will include theater games and exercises, as well as rehearsals for a culmination performance that will be held at the end of the two weeks.  Children will be given the opportunity to use their creativity throughout the production process.  The children will also have a swim lesson each morning in our heated pools.
